China, part 1

we have been home over a week and i still haven't posted about our trip. it is hard to put it into writing. the experience was incredible and i am so thankful we had the opportunity to go. i am planning on breaking up our trip into 3 parts; time with the friends, Beijing, and Shanghai.

Saturday- Beijing, we stayed at a hotel near the airport... the internet didn't work, the bed was harder than i am used to, and i missed my kids SO badly.  it was my hardest night.  plus we slept terrible.

Sunday- Beijing,  Ashley picked us up and we drove straight into the heart of the city for some tourist stuff!  we took a picture in front of Tienanmen square and then toured the forbidden city.  it was huge and crowded.

Monday - Tianjin, we spent the morning at Ancient Culture Street and the afternoon at a blind masseuse and "trash mountain" with Joseph family

 Tuesday, The Great Wall
Incredible and exhausting!

Wednesday am, Tianjin Zoo with Ashley, Hudson, and Noah,

Spending the first few days with friends was the perfect way to start the trip!  We were encouraged by them and hope we can make a return trip in a few years with our kids to visit them again!
